Not long after “Bendgate” made news over the iPhone 6, “Hairgate” enters the picture.
In a Business Insider report that just came out, there are customers now complaining that chunks of hair are ripping out when they hold the phone up to their ear.
BI cites a 9to5Mac community in which it’s revealed that iPhone 6 customers are taking their complaints to social media about the new devices yanking out chunks of their hair while they’re on a call.
Posters on twitter claim that hair catches in the “seam between the glass screen and aluminum back of the iPhone 6,” according to the report.
Here are some of the complaints many are seeing on Twitter about the iPhone #Hairgate issue.
“Anyone else getting beard hairs pulled by the iPhone 6/Plus? It catches my scruff in the seam and yanks it during calls. #hurts #beardgate”
“My hair keeps getting caught in the microscopic seam between glass and aluminium on my iPhone 6”
“The seam on my iPhone 6 where the aluminum meets the glass is definitely catching my hair and pulling it out. #seamgate”
One guest commenter using the handle “Ayeai” wrote on the 9to5Mac website as well.
“[I’m] concerned and somewhat irritated that my iPhone 6 Plus keeps yanking out my hair when I’m making a call. Hair gets stuck and when you try to free it out, it hurts.”
Consumer Reports performed a stress test on both new iPhone models and their findings “show that both iPhones seem tougher than the Internet fracas implies.”
Some iPhone 6 users have suggested remedying the problem by covering the device with a case. There are many who don’t like using their phones with cases because it makes them more “bulky” or they don’t have the visual appeal they prefer.
Now mock ads about the iPhone 6 #Hairgate are implying that the devices could double as razors. A woman in one image is seen shaving her legs with the caption, “Stay Smooth iPhone 6.” Another image shows a man as if he’s in a shaving commercial with the caption, “iPhone 6. Our best phone, and our best shave, guaranteed.”
The Inquisitr reported on the issues surrounding the iPhone 6 when it came to #bendgate. Apple noted in their statement about the latest cell phone that only a handful of customers complained about the bending issue.
Is the iPhone 6 #Hairgate issue a bigger problem among users this time around? Apple hasn’t yet commented on #Hairgate.
