Jennifer Love Hewitt Sent Matt Damon A Bed? [Video]
Jennifer Love Hewitt sent Matt Damon a bed back in the 90s. Now before you assume that this was a suggestive gesture, the Criminal Minds actress explains that it was just a thoughtful albeit crazy gesture.
Hewitt went on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote Criminal Minds, and the conversation eventually turned to Matt Damon. On any other show this would be odd, but Kimmel has a history of bringing up Damon’s name, and that stems back to the very first episodes of the late night show. That said, it’s rare a guest has a Damon connection that isn’t already public knowledge.
To Kimmel’s delight Jennifer Love Hewitt had a 90s connection to the actor that no one else knew about. Back in the 90s, Hewitt was one of the most sought after teen actresses, and during that time, Damon and his best friend Ben Affleck were just coming up in the industry. Love explained that she was concerned about Damon’s well being after reading an article that he had nowhere to sleep.
“I must have been like 19 or 20 years old. I was reading an article, and Matt Damon and Ben Affleck had just blown up big time. So, I obviously knew who he was, and I was reading this article, and he said this really sad thing in this article about how all of his dreams were coming true in the business and he was working really hard but he didn’t ever really feel like those days he had a bed of his own. Like, he was just traveling so much and everything.”
Hewitt continued to explain that she took matters into her own hands and actually sent the actor a bed.
“So, for some reason I thought an AeroBed would help that for him. In my head I was like, ‘Oh, he could travel with it and then it’s always his bed and it’s always his safe place.’ I didn’t go over it with anyone. So, I just got the information. He was in Paris filming something. Of course, now I’m like, ‘Oh, he was probably at The Savoy at this giant suite and here comes security with this little AeroBed.”
If it wasn’t bad enough that she sent the actor an AeroBed, Hewitt never received a thank you from Damon for the bed. Awkward! Kimmel of course took this and ran with it, saying, “You know why you didn’t get a thank you? He’s a creep. He’s got no class. I mean, what kind of person doesn’t thank another person for sending them a bed?”
Hopefully Matt gets the memo about his long lost AeroBed.
