Batman: Arkham City online pass will unlock Catwoman

Were you excited about being able to play as Catwoman in Batman: Arkham City? If so, I hope you weren’t planning on buying the game used and skirting the online pass.. because, well, you won’t be able to play her.

Warner Bros. Interactive confirmed today that online passes, included in fresh retail copies of Batman: Arkham City, will unlock the ability to play Catwoman throughout various points in the singleplayer campaign.

If you get your copy pre-owned, you’ll have to shell out $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points) for the privilege of playing the singleplayer campaign’s Catwoman content. In a statement to Eurogamer, a Warner Bros. rep noted that Catwoman is not required to beat the singleplayer.

In addition to being playable throughout four story segments, Catwoman will also be playable in the game’s challenge mode, dubbed Riddler’s Revenge.

In other news, the Xbox 360 version of Batman: Arkham City has reportedly leaked and made available across several torrent sites one week before the game’s scheduled release.

Batman: Arkham City is due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 18 in North America, October 21 in Europe. A PC release will follow at some point in November.
