Teen Mimics Sex Act With Jesus Statue, 14-Year-Old Faces Two Years For Photo

A Pennsylvania teen who mimicked an obscene sexual act with a Jesus statue is facing a high penalty indeed for posting photos of his deed on Facebook.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, another 300-year-old Jesus statue was found to have real human teeth when researchers used an X-Ray on it. A Ten Commandments monument in Oklahoma is about to have some strange company since Inquisitr, never mind once they hold their satanic black mass there.

The stunt with the Jesus statue occurred in front of Love in the Name of Christ, a Christian service organization with a branch in Everett. While simply kneeling in front of a kneeling statue of Jesus may be offensive, the reason the case reached the courts is due to the Facebook photo proving he committed the crime.

Bedford County officials say the unnamed boy was charged under a rarely used 1972 law that makes it a crime to desecrate a venerated object, which criminalizes “defacing, damaging, polluting or otherwise physically mistreating in a way that the actor knows will outrage the sensibilities of persons likely to observe or discover the action.”. If convicted, the teen faces a maximum penalty of two years in juvenile detention. Further details about the teen are not available since the the court papers against the boy are sealed because they’re filed in juvenile court.

This is not the first time this Pennsylvania law has been enforced in recent memory. Back in January of 2010, a college student was prosecuted for desecrating a venerated object when he urinated on a nativity scene. Other states like Alabama, Tennessee, and Oregon have laws like Pennsylvania’s, which can be enforced by punishing people who do offensive acts of venerated objects. Most states typically have a more limited form of the law, which defines “desecration” of a civic or religious object as requiring physical harm or actual vandalizing, not just a pose that mimics a sexual act.
