TNA News: TNA In Talks With Up To Four Networks For Impact Wrestling TV Show

TNA Wrestling has a lot on their plate these days. Not only are they risking the loss of a television home for Impact Wrestling, TNA’s only TV Show, there is still worry about TNA’s doors closing for good. Something people do not want to see at the end of the day. That is why it is helpful for TNA that it seems some networks have interest in bringing them onto their network.

From what was being said, no major network was said to be interested. No one was willing to pay TNA what Spike TV offered either, which is not good for TNA at the end of the day. Both issues may have changed if rumors are true. The Inquisitr reported a while back that Discovery’s Velocity Network had offered TNA a spot on their network, but now further reports claim that WGN America has interest in bringing them on, as well as two other networks yet to be named.

Many believe WGN’s interest is merely rumored, but if they were to air Impact Wrestling, WGN would also want pre-emptions of Impact included. Again, it is doubtful WGN has major interest. They had WWE for a while, and they were doing relatively good numbers for them. WGN walked away from WWE, so it wouldn’t make sense for them to want to bring TNA on board if they didn’t want the company that drew highest in WWE.

The two unnamed networks are said to be able to offer a lot more money than both Velocity and WGN.

TNA Wrestling Matters

TNA could simply be putting out rumors regarding two other major networks, but for now we have to take the rumor as a potential fact. It is all but official, according to the Wrestling Observer, that TNA will be gone from Spike TV come January of 2015. The original deal with Spike TV ends next month, so clearly Spike extended the deal a few months simply out of courtesy to TNA, which was kind of them, of course.

TNA will be heading to Japan next month for their annual Bound for Glory PPV. The show is usually TNA’s best show of the year, so it is usually worth the buy. The event does have some uncertainties, however. TNA lied to Great Muta regarding Vince Russo working for them, and famously it was found out that he was. This hurt TNA because Wrestle-1 (Muta’s promotion) is partnering with TNA for the BFG event, as they will be running the show together in Japan.

The other uncertainty is Bully Ray. The former TNA World Champion is set to be inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame along with his long-time tag team partner Devon. Bully left TNA last month due to contract issues, and has not been back since. Due to this his status with TNA is up in the air, but many believe he will be at the event as he does still love the company.

TNA has a lot of ups and downs, but hopefully they can work something out with a TV Network before January along with having a great Bound for Glory show. Both going down in TNA’s favor might be up in the air for now, but obviously both need to be locked down soon. So we will see how well that goes over.
