Nicole Scherzinger Dedicates Performance To Suspected Suicide Victim G.R.L.’s Simone Battle

Nicole Scherzinger took to Twitter on Saturday, September 6, 2014 to dedicate her upcoming South African performance to a fellow singer, Simone Battle. Just one day earlier, Battle reportedly committed suicide in Los Angeles. Battle was a finalist on X Factor in the United States in 2011 when Scherzinger served as a judge. Scherzinger went on to judge X Factor in the United Kingdom in 2012 and 2013.

In a sad twist of fate, Scherzinger arrived in South Africa on the same morning that Battle was found dead in California. When Scherzinger takes to the stage on Saturday night, she will be performing not only for Simone Battle, but also for anyone else facing a difficult time. Battle was a member of G.R.L., which was formed by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin.

Hundreds of fans who visited Nicole Scherzinger’s Twitter feed on Saturday took the time to retweet her message of condolences to Simone Battle’s family, Reign Deer Entertainment, and the remaining members of G.R.L. Reign Deer Entertainment counts both Scherzinger and G.R.L. among its clients. Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne, and Pauly D of Jersey Shore fame are also clients.

As of Saturday afternoon, Reign Deer had not posted any news about the suspected suicide of one of its clients on its site. However, Reign Deer Entertainment, Robin Antin, Kemosabe Records, and RCA records did release a joint statement on Simone Battle’s tragic passing, reported People.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the loss of Simone Battle of G.R.L. Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time.”

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, X Factor star Simone Battle of the girl group G.R.L. was discovered dead of an apparent suicide on the morning of September 5, 2014. The talented 25-year-old singer was found hanging in her closet at approximately 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Nicole Scherzinger created quite a stir when she participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge wearing a tiny bikini and short shorts on the beach. Not long after her ice-cold soaking, her personal trainer revealed that the 36-year-old Pussycat Dolls singer keeps her body in fighting form with The Viking Workout, reported The Inquisitr.
