Nicki Minaj and Vogue editor Anna Wintour weren’t quite the pair we thought we’d see sitting together at New York Fashion Week but it turns out Wintour not only sat next to Minaj, she actually invited her to attend the Oscar de la Renta show.
Minaj showed up decked out in neon rainbow pom-poms and a platinum wig while Wintour wore a colorful top that wasn’t quite as eccentric.
Nicki told Z100 after the show that not only did she receive a personal invite, Wintour sent her the colorful photo shown above with the message “We match!”
Oddly enough Wintour has a reputation as being one of the more “rigid” editors in the fashion industry, apparently she can look past that attitude long enough to take a risk on pop stars with odd fashion choices, she’s also raved about Lady Gaga’s fashion choices which are definitely less than conventional.
You can’t see it in the photo above but Minja had a nice seat sandwiched between Wintour and pop sensation Justin Timberlake.
During the show Minaj tweeted:
Oscar De La Renta w/my date Anna Wintour again,” she then added, “Oscar is a very handsome man. So is Valentino. Tell ya all about the collection in a bit!”
