Beyoncé’s Dad: Divorce Rumors Are A ‘Jedi Mind Trick’ To Sell Tickets

Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, made his opinion about the divorce rumors swirling around his daughter and Jay-Z extremely clear; they’re not true.

Beyoncé’s father told the Roula and Ryan radio show that the divorce rumors were invented just to sell more tickets for Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s On the Run tour.

“Sometimes rumors ignite tours. The Jedi Mind Trick fools you a lot of times. So things you see sometimes are [makes ‘poof’ noise].”

When Beyoncé’s father was asked whether or not the now infamous elevator fight that raged between Beyoncé’s sister, Solange and Jay-Z was staged, Beyoncé’s father refused to go into details.

Here’s what he did say:

“Everyone’s talking about it. Ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200%.”

The rumors of an impending, permanent split between Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been running rampant all summer long. The rumors started after the elevator car security footage from the above incident came out last May. Not long after that, it was revealed that Solange thought Jay-Z was going to meet Rihanna that night, effectively cheating on his wife, who is Solange’s sister, and a fight ensued.

The first couple of hip-hop has been hopping from city to city all summer long on their $100 million On the Run tour. Experts said that both Beyoncé and Jay-Z were far too smart business-wise to end the tour early or to let their personal problems interfere with such a mammoth money-making machine. And then it seemed like the couple might be on the mend for a while. Beyoncé was posting family pictures of both herself, her husband Jay-Z and their daughter Blue Ivy all over social media.

And then Beyoncé was caught apartment shopping in New York.

The latest rumors via Page Six are that the couple actually might be on the verge of ending the tour early, though they can’t even agree on what to say in a statement to announce their separation or a tour diversion.

One source said about the tour:

“This [the tour] may not make it to San Francisco. I’m definitely not sure that they’ll make it to Paris.”

It seems like every time the “experts” prognosticate an early end to the tour and marriage, Beyoncé does something either on Instagram or at an award show that puts everyone back on their heels in confusion.

It’s almost like Beyoncé and Jay-Z are toying with us… just to sell tickets.

And that’s what Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, thinks too; the whole impending divorce production was put in place to sell records and concert tickets.
