Billy Bob Thornton was reportedly involved in Tea Leoni and David Duchovny’s separation after the actress had an affair with the actor.
Duchovny and Leoni originally ended their relationship back in 2008. The former X-Files actor checked himself into a rehabilitation for sex addiction in August of that year, and then the following October it was revealed that they had split several months earlier.
However, after Duchovny had received his treatment, the duo decided to give their marriage another whirl. This didn’t last though, as they once again split in June 2011, before their divorce was only finally completed several weeks ago.
As you can imagine, rumors surrounding the reasons for the demise of their time together as man and wife soon started to swirl, especially since Duchovny had confirmed that he was a sex addict. Most media outlets assumed that his various infidelities had been the issue that finally drove Leoni away, with reports suggesting that he had actually conducted numerous trysts with his Californication co-stars while he was romantically linked to his former X-Files co-star, Gillian Anderson.
Speculation surrounding Anderson and Duchovny still hasn’t ceased, but it has now emerged that Leoni allegedly had her own affair with Thornton, which heavily contributed to the end of their marriage. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry , Leoni even ditched Duchovny and the two children that they share, who are now aged 15 and 12 years old, to tour around the country with Thornton.
Globe Magazine’s sources have also revealed that Duchovny even found racy and provocative messages from Thornton on Leoni’s mobile phone, which the actor couldn’t get over. David believed that his various affairs were purely just sex, while Billy Bob and Tea’s relationship was much more intense and built on a solid foundation.
It’s not yet known if Thornton and Leoni are still currently dating, or if they ended their romance after Duchovny learned of their romance.
Duchovny is believed to now finally be in a relationship with Anderson, who he shared the screen with on The X-Files for 9 years, which included two movies. The duo are widely recognized as two of the most iconic television actors in the history of the medium thanks to their undeniable on-screen sexual chemistry.
Anderson and Duchovny are thought to have finally gotten together over the last few months, but they’re still waiting to confirm their relationship as his divorce was only recently announced.
