Suge Knight was shot six times at a party before the MTV Video Music Awards, but sources say it was actually the party’s host Chris Brown who was the real target.
The shooting took place at the 1Oak party, where a number of celebrities had gathered along with Chris Brown. Police sources said Knight’s gang affiliation with the Bloods may have played a role, but a source told MediaTakeOut it was actually Brown’s gang ties that led to the incident.
The report noted:
“MediaTakeOut.com spies were IN THE BUILDING last night at the 1Oak party and it was A MOVIE. Tons of celebs, and beautiful people too. But it all went SOUTH when a group of men tried to MURDER CHRIS BROWN!!!
“You see, ever since Chris Brown got OUT OF REHAB – he’s changed his lifestyle and his circle of friends. Our snitch explains, “Chris used to run with a bunch of gang bangers who were really scary. When he got out [of rehab], he cut them all off. I guess they’re UPSET about that.”
“The inside snitch tells us that Chris was being THREATENED by his ex-homies… and they have been trying to EXTORT MONEY out of him for weeks. Well last night when Chris was at the VMAs it all came to a head. MediaTakeOut.com explained, ‘It was [Chris Brown’s former homies] shooting. And they were trying to hit Chris.’”
The shooting created a chaotic scene that left many of the partygoers shaken.
“Literally can’t believe what I just witnessed,” Katie Clendon tweeted after the shooting. “Someone tried to fire shots at Chris Brown at 1oak. Speechless.”
Former Australian Next Top Model finalist Simone Holtznagel revealed that she and model friend Chloe Lloyd hid in a toilet cubicle when the shooting took place.
“Me and @MOANNN sort refuge in a toilet cubicle as rifles targeted Chris brown & bieber outside. #usa, (sic),” Chloe wrote in a tweet sent to Simone.
Police say they are still looking for details on the shooting that left Suge Knight hospitalized. They have not identified suspect, nor have they said if Chris Brown was the real target.
