ISIS Terrorists Threaten United States Soil Over Twitter

Matthew He

The Sunni radicals, who are a part of the Islamic State, sent threatening messages over Twitter about the city of Chicago and United States soil.

The United States government is asking that all local police departments be extremely vigilant and on the look out for possible ISIS threats, especially around Chicago and Washington D.C.

The tweet featured a unnamed man on Michigan Avenue holding a small sheet a paper with writing on it. The writing which was handwritten in Arabic said, "We are in your streets."

You are our goals anywhere

This tweet, which was posted on August 9, includes photos in front of Chicago's Old Republic building and the White House. Both of the photos have time stamps stating that they were taken on June 20. This causes us to wonder if Islamic State terrorists were already in the United States spreading propaganda and causing unrest over two months ago.

It's obvious why Washington D.C. would be a target for terrorists. Chicago is also seen as a big terrorist target because President Barack Obama has many ties to Chicago. Ross Rice, a former FBI agent, tells CBS Chicago, "Many terror organizations refer to Chicago as Obama Town."

According to another Inquisitr report, there has been another suspected attack on U.S. soil by ISIS. The suspect, Muhammad Ali Brown, murdered a gay couple and said the cause of it was the involvement of the United States in Iraq and Syria.

The United States Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said:

"ISIL is as sophisticated and well-funded as any group that we have seen. They're beyond just a terrorist group. They marry ideology, a sophistication of strategic and tactical military prowess. They are tremendously well-funded. Oh, this is beyond anything that we've seen. So we must prepare for everything."

Another United States senator thinks the Islamic State terrorists are aiming to attack a major American city. Jim Inhofe, senator of Oklahoma, tells Fox-25 Television, " They're crazy out there and they're rapidly developing a method of blowing up a major U.S. city and people just can't believe that's happening."

He goes on to say, "They're so bad even al-Qaeda is afraid of them."

Hopefully, the leaders of the world will be able to find a viable solution to deal with the ISIS terrorists.
