Tom Hanks And Rita Wilson Separated For A Month After Hitting ‘Rough Patch’

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson separated quietly for about a month this summer after hitting a “rough patch” in their marriage according to a new report. In Touch Weekly reported that Hanks and Wilson lived alone for a bit this summer, trying to figure things out on their own time. Rita stayed in the couple’s $26 million home in Pacific Palisades while Tom stayed at a producer pal’s home in Malibu Colony. A friend of the couple explained what happened.

“They hit a rough patch. They were leading separate lives. Although they attended social functions and walked their dog together, they were living in separate residences. They just weren’t seeing eye to eye. Tom and Rita are not just husband and wife, they are best friends. It will take a lot to split this couple up for good.”

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have been married for 26 years. The two actors were recently spotted together at their home in Greece, proving that things are going okay for the time being. According to Mail Online, Hanks, 58, and Wilson, 57, went paddle boarding together on Sunday. They enjoyed the afternoon together in Antiparos, where they have owned a home for the past 14 years (Wilson is half Greek which explains their vacation home location of choice).

Interestingly enough, the site does not make mention of any kind of marital split. Hanks, you see, was actually in Egypt working on his latest film, A Hologram For The King a couple of months ago. It is unclear exactly how long Hanks was gone for, but if it was about a month, there is a chance that the media is running with a completely false story. Perhaps Tom and Rita were apart because of work, not because of marital troubles.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are one of the most solid couples in Hollywood — and people just love them together. To hear that they could be having marriage troubles is sad, but it’s great to see that they’ve managed to work things out. If they didn’t have marriage troubles, that’s even better, and fans truly hope that they continue to enjoy their lives together. There’s nothing like spending the some downtime with the person you love in one of the most beautiful places in the world!
