Coroner Defends Robin Williams Shocking Suicide Details Being Released

The coroner who performed Robin Williams autopsy defends his decision to reveal details about the beloved actor’s death to the public after an outpouring of outrage by some fans.

Coroner Keith Boyd gave a press conference, which aired on television, following Robin Williams’ death and revealed some shocking and disturbing details about the actor’s suicide.

Boyd told the press that Robin Williams had hung himself with a belt in his California home, and that there were multiple cuts on his left wrist at the time of his death.

Fans were obviously upset by the release of this information, and began to speak out about their upset over the issues. According to Hollywood.com, this prompted the Sheriff’s office to release an official statement on the matter.

“The Sheriff’s Office understands how the release of the kind of information you heard… may be viewed as disturbing by some, and as unnecessary by others, but under California law, all that information is considered ‘public information’ and we are precluded from denying access to it. These kinds of cases, whether they garner national attention or not, are very difficult for everyone involved. “Frankly, it would have been our personal preference to withhold a lot of what we disclosed to the press… but the California Public Records Act does not give us that kind of latitude. For the same reasons, we will likely be required to release to the media the 911 phone call we received from Mr. Williams’ residence and the fire dispatch tapes that resulted as well…” the statement on Robin Williams’ death reads.

Meanwhile, as fans continue to mourn Robin Williams death, the coroner still defends his decision to speak out on the suicide.

Now, fans are wondering if there will be any sort of public memorial held for the comedian. However, nothing has been planned yet. However, as previously reported by The Inquisitr, a comedy benefit will be held in honor of Robin Williams.

According to E! News, a private memorial for Robin Williams’ family and close friends will be held in the near future, and is being planned by Robin’s wife, Susan Schneider.

As more details continue to trickle in about Robin Williams’ death, many outlets and fans have begun to speak out about mental health and depression issues, which seem to plague the country more than ever these days.
