Robin Williams’ Wife Susan Schneider And Daughter Zelda Release Statement On Tragic Suicide

Robin Williams’ wife Susan Schneider and his daughter Zelda Williams released a statement about the tragic suicide of Robin Williams on Monday.

The shock and grief, not just from Williams’ close family and friends but from many fans around the world, is huge and no one can quite believe it happened.

Susan Schneider, who was Robin Williams’ third wife, said in the heartfelt statement to the AP:

“This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.”

Robin Williams’ daughter, Zelda Williams, also released a statement, of sorts, via her Twitter account, where she quoted a section from The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery in memory of her dad.

“You — you alone will have the stars as no one else has them… In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night… You — only you — will have stars that can laugh.”

Adding her own words: “I love you. I miss you. I’ll try to keep looking up. Z.”

Robin Williams and Susan Schneider, a graphic designer, met before his heart surgery in 2009 and were married nearly three years ago, in October 2011.

Less than two weeks before he committed suicide, Robin Williams sent a last social media message to his daughter Zelda, which included a photo of father and daughter together when she was young.

The tragic death of Robin Williams has shocked more than just a nation; the world wishes his close family strength during these difficult times.
