Celebrity Beauty Tips For Real Women: Look Like A Star Without Spending A Fortune

Celebrity beauty tips often consist of a beautiful, perfectly made up superstar gushing about the hours a day she spends with her personal trainer or how she couldn’t live without her $200 a tube designer lip gloss. A number of celebrities and their stylists, though, have shared the down-to-earth beauty tips they use to maintain their flawless looks. And believe it or not, it is surprisingly easy to get a starlet’s glam look without spending a lot of time or money.

Kristin Bell’s cheapskate beauty tip is that she uses a homemade body scrub of brown sugar mixed with coconut oil or honey. Not only does she credit it with maintaining her glowing skin, but she told Shape Magazine, “You’ll smell like a cupcake after your shower.”

Reality TV star, Kelly Bensimon, of The Real Housewives of New York City, also told Shape her tip for giving her long legs that luminous sheen needed with the current trend of going bare-legged. She slathers her legs in baby oil while showering, and then pats them dry. “Guys always notice them,” she said.

In an interview with Allure, pop singer, Taylor Swift, shared a tip that she learned from a makeup artist for making her trademark red lipstick last longer. After applying lipstick, blot with a tissue. Then put powder over the tissue and press into the lips before reapplying the lipstick. This will create a stain that will last longer.

According to Beauty and Tips Magazine, Australian beauty Isla Fisher of Arrested Development and The Great Gatsby fame, heats her eyelash curler with a blow-dryer before using it. This makes it work like a heated curlers or a curling iron to set in the curl in her lashes.

What about that always perfect hair? Rodney Cutler, celebrity hair stylist and founder of Cutler Salons, shared his tip to give frizzy hair a glamorous tosseled look. Secure hair into a pony tail at the nape of the neck, and then divide the ponytail into two sections. Twist each section, wrap them around each other into a loose bun, and secure with French pin.

Another great tip to get a sleek updo in minutes is to apply mousse or an anti-frizz serum to wet hair, make a deep side part, and secure your hair in a tight bun at the nape of the neck. Pin a flower or other hair accessory into the hair just behind the ear on the side with the part – instant glamour.

Stars have some strange beauty tips too. Lady Gaga says that she uses tape to remove her eye makeup. With the amount of glitter makeup the singer wears, she may be on to something. A fabric tape, such as that used to secure gauze on a bandage, works great to remove hard to wash off glitter.

Maybe one of the strangest is a beauty tip shared by Sandra Bullock. Sandy B swears by Preparation H as an eye cream. She isn’t the only one, other celebrities and makeup artists use the hemorrhoid cream as a beauty treatment, claiming that it re-hydrates and smooths lines by temporarily tightening the skin.
