This Little Dog Playing Fetch With A Machine Is Both Hilarious And Hypnotic [Video]

Soon, machines will make us all obsolete. One day the time will come when you don’t even have to play fetch with your dog — a machine will do that for you. And actually, that time is now.

Watch this mesmerizing and somehow marvelous video of a mini-dachsund playing fetch all by himself, with the help of this clever new machine — the iFetch. Now, we’re not here to endorse the product. We can’t tell you whether it works as well as it seems to in this video every time or not.

But we can definitely endorse the incredibly earnest little dog in he video, who has figured out every step of how to use the iFetch all by himself.

The iFetch, as you’ll see, is basically a pitching machine, like the kind baseball players use to take batting practice, except for dogs. Drop a small tennis ball into the machine, wait a few seconds, and the machine propels the ball through the air, allowing your small or mid-size dog a nice little run and fetch.

And as any dog owner can testify, as much as you love your dog, sometimes you just get sick of playing the fetch game. There’s only so many times you can throw a ball, wait for your dog to bring it back, then throw it again.

But your dog never gets sick of it.

The good news is, neither does the iFetch machine.

The iFetch was funded by a Kickstarter campaign last year. And there must be a lot of fetch-weary dog owners out there, because the makers of iFetch set a funding goal of $20,000 — and they raised $88,000.

Check out this iFetch video. It’s strangely hypnotic. We had a hard time taking our eyes off of it — not just for the machine, but also for the dog, who is obviously an intelligent little guy. Not only does he know how to load the iFetch, but he also knows how to position himself for maximum fetching efficiency.
