Inside Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie’s Love Letters

Just when you thought Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt couldn’t be any more adorable Jolie admitted that they sent each other handwritten letters while work had them miles and miles away.

Instead of getting home sick Jolie and Pitt kept the love alive in a way that hasn’t been practiced nearly enough, especially with the surge of technologies that allow people to send impersonal e-mails and quick texts. Brad and Angie, as they’re often referred to as, decided to write letters to each other so they would always feel connected even though they were at opposite ends of the world.

According to Australia’s TV Week magazine, Jolie said that she was directing her film Unbroken, a World War II biopic on hero Louis Zamperini in Australia at the same time that Pitt was filming in London for the Oscar baited film Fury, about a crew fighting the Nazis. She explained their predicament:

“He was supportive from a distance, and it was quite romantic in a way.”

She continued to explain that there might have been a bit of roleplaying involved as the two exchanged handwritten letters with each other:

“We decided to be of that time, when we could imagine he was in the European theater and I was in the Pacific theater, and we wrote handwritten letters to each other that were very connecting for us, thinking of the people that were separated for months, if not years, at a time back then.”

Now that they’ve gotten over the hurdle of being a part from each other, it looks like the engaged couple have a lot to look forward to in terms of sharing the same space again. Universal Pictures announced that Jolie and Pitt will reunite for the big screen in an “intimate, character-driven drama” called By the Sea.

Not only will this film reunite the two since their 2004 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith but this will act as Jolie’s third film behind the camera as well. It’s said that Angelina will direct and write the film which will see her star alongside her husband-to-be.

As for their separate movies, Brad Pitt’s Fury will be released in November while Jolie’s Unbroken will be premiered on Christmas Day. No doubt that both films are in very Oscar friendly dates. We wouldn’t be surprised if we saw the both of them supporting each other down the red carpet when the time comes.
