‘The Bachelor’ 2015: Chris Soules Confirmed As The New ‘Bachelor’… Sort Of
The Bachelor 2015 is Chris Soules — at least that’s exactly what Bachelorette host Chris Harrison hinted on Monday night’s finale. According to People Magazine, Soules turned bright red and had a huge smile on his face when Bachelor talk came up during the live portion of tonight’s Bachelorette.
It all started when Michelle Money (Bachelor In Paradise) raised her hand and asked Chris Harrison who the next Bachelor was going to be. Just about everyone in the room began chanting Chris’ name (referring to Chris “the farmer” Soules, a season favorite), and Soules couldn’t help but smile — a big, cheesy, “I’m the new Bachelor” smile. Also, the guys sitting next to him were laughing and patting him on the back. The real giveaway, however, was when Chris Harrison said that the announcement would have to wait… but he walked over to Chris Soules and patted him on the back. Everyone was laughing — like the secret was finally out.
The Bachelor 2015 has been a topic of conversation for weeks. Back in June, The Inquisitr reported that Chris Soules was going to take the helm, thanks to a couple of sources who had attended try-outs and were told that Soules was indeed the man of the new season. Weeks before that, Reality Steve confirmed the news — but even still, fans really wanted some kind of official announcement on Monday night.
Interestingly enough, Us Weekly has just reported that producers are in talks with another potential Bachelor: Emily Maynard’s ex, Arie Luyendyk, Jr. An insider said that no decisions have been finalized.
“Arie is being considered and filmed for promos. He already had his packages shot and they even got him a trainer so he could buff up and be camera ready with his shirt off. Chris is still on the short list to be the next Bachelor and no decisions have been made. They wont be announcing the new person for several weeks … but Chris is definitely still in the running.”
Perhaps this is ABC’s way of trying to make a big announcement… because it seems more than clear that Chris Soules is the one — and that it has already been decided. Inked. Done. In fact, Soules talked to People Magazine during the Men Tell All taping, and he sort of hinted at being The Bachelor also.
“From an emotional perspective, it was tough going through the process and falling in love with Andi and not having it work out, but I’m strong and I’ve been there before and I’m going to figure it out. I’m optimistic that my future is bright and I’m definitely ready to move on.”
