Tim McGraw is being slapped with a lawsuit from the woman he swatted at a July 13 concert in Atlanta. Jesslyn Taylor has hired an attorney and he’s already contacted Tim’s people, TMZ reports. The country singer will likely be faced with paying her a sum of money for the incident or possibly having a personal injury lawsuit filed against him.
Taylor’s attorney, Eric Hertz, claims that his client wasn’t trying to grab McGraw’s crotch at the time he slapped her. He describes her conduct as being that of an enthusiastic fan who was just being part of the concert’s “interactive environment.” Hertz says the woman is enraged that Tim is making it sound as though she was aggressive and tried tearing his jeans. She’s also upset that she was thrown out of the concert. She feels “humiliated” and, at the very least, expects an apology from the country star.
Police, on the other hand, inform the celebrity news site that they feel Tim is the victim in all of this.
Here’s a video from the concert of Tim McGraw slapping the woman:
What do you think of McGraw swatting Taylor? Is she making too much out of this if she was really overstepping her boundaries?
McGraw admitted he slapped Jesslyn, but he also says it was an “instinctive” reaction. On Sunday he told ET Canada this:
“Sometimes things can lose context and perspective. I reacted in an instinctive, defensive way from my perspective of what was going on. I think it was an unfortunate situation I think all the way around. But it happened, it happened in a split second, it was pure instinctive reaction, I think you just got to move on. It is one of those things that happen, nobody feels good about it, but there’s nothing that could be done about it. You are in that position, you are out there, you are vulnerable, things happen and sometimes you react. There’s nothing to be said about it.”
Tim already deals with rumors regarding his marriage to Faith Hill, as The Inquisitr has reported on many times. McGraw says the tabloids don’t bother him when it comes to the negative reports on his marriage, but the slapping scandal is another incident entirely. Will this whole thing with Jesslyn Taylor be dragged out before it’s finally resolved?
Many fans are on Tim McGraw’s side for slapping the woman because they feel she was way out of line touching the singer the way she did.
