Is This The Worst Mom Ever? Internet Commenters Say ‘Yes’ [Video]

Worst Mom Ever? Not Even Close

Worst mom ever. That’s what many in the YouTube and Reddit communities are now saying after YouTuber Ciera Ison posted a 52-second video of her three-year-old daughter.

Just what did she do that was so bad? We’ll get to that in a moment. First, the setup.

While at what appears to be a county fair, Ison (we don’t know if that’s her real name) caught some footage of her youngster doing something quite unusual.

On a human hamster wheel, the child shows off one impressive death grip, defying the laws of gravity in every way that you’d think a child couldn’t.

Check it out here before we continue:

Okay, other than being one of the worst videographers ever — come on, Ciera, everyone knows you film in landscape — we’re not sure we could say she’s the worst mom ever. The holy of holy Internet commenters at Reddit and YouTube, however, can, and they do.

YouTube commenters:

“Hey let’s film and laugh at my child who’s hanging upside down with the possibility of falling head first onto the ground. F****** idiot parents like you are the reason the new generation is getting stupider.”

“yes so funny except if she fell down with the head and break her neck that murican parents…”

“This is a classic case of child abuse. If that child would’ve let go and fell on her head we would be calling Child Protective Services. This is not a funny video in anyway. I suspect a play in some kind of magic or photochop. I’ll have to /r/askreddit about this so I can get some more professional suggestion from my fellow redditors.”

Reddit commenters.

“For a second it looked like she was going to put the phone down and help but then realized how great the footage of this potential disaster would be so she continues.”

“Dunno how you can sit there and laugh while your kid spins upside down. Only takes 5 feet to snap your neck/spine. I don’t even have kids. But teleportation may have been a reality with how fast I would have shot in there.”

“Horrible maternal instincts right there.”

So what do you think? Does the Internet have it right? Is Ciera the worst mom ever, or even a half-bad mom? I don’t think so. I mean, she’s at the fair having fun with her kids. That’s definitely an unusual situation, and it appears that she puts the phone down for a bit but second-guesses it thinking that if she overreacts it will cause more harm than good.

If we did have to pick the worst parents, it would probably be these people.
