Glee star Lea Michele took a break from her busy schedule to enjoy some sun and fun in Italy. E! Online reports that the 27-year-old actress traveled to Italy with new boyfriend Matthew Paetz, and while she was there, she shared a few photos with her fans. It seems even a major star like Lea can't resist that delicious Italian cuisine.
While in Italy, Michele was also photographed attending the Giffoni Film Festival. Always elegant, Michele kept it stylish in a simple, but stunning black dress reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn. From her twitter comments, it seems Michele had a great time.
The Italian vacation comes on the heels of the one-year anniversary of Corey Monteith's death. At the time of his death, Monteith and Michele were co-stars on the hit show Glee and a couple off-screen. News of Monteith's death reached Michele while she was in Los Angeles.
Michele reportedly spent the anniversary with Paetz and friend in Montecito at the San Ysidro Ranch spa, far away from the city where she'd been on the same date the year before. While witnesses say Michele and her group kept things relaxed and upbeat, the star took time to tweet a tribute to Monteith.
We hold you in our hearts today, and every day we remember your smile. We will love you and miss you always. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/deA4PQUZNzMichele's Italy vacation may be short lived. Earlier this month, TVLine broke the news that after six seasons and 100 episodes, Glee would return for a thirteen episode final season. No official date has been announced, but the show is expected to return at mid-season.

Fan reaction to the news of a thirteen episode season, rather than the twenty-two episodes originally ordered, has been mixed. The only comfort Fox Chairman and CEO Peter Rice could offer is that Michele and company will have an uninterrupted run when the show returns.
Information on exactly how extensive Lea Michele's role will be in the final season, or what the storyline of the final season will be, have been slow to emerge. What is known is that the series will skip forward in time, and the focus will move from New York back to Lima, Ohio. Michele's character, Rachel Berry, was the often awkward star of the fictional William McKinley High School's eponymous glee club.
Look for Lea Michele and her Glee co-stars to return for a melodic hurrah sometime in 2015.
