Ed Sheeran Thinks ‘Beyoncé Controls All Women,’ We’re Inclined To Agree

Is Ed Sheeran a fan of Beyoncé?

Is the pope Catholic?

Speaking to Atlanta’s Power 96.1 radio Friday, the Brit singer-songwriter replied, “Beyoncé controls all women,” when asked who had a better posterior between rapper Iggy Azalea and the “baddest chick in the game.”

Elaborating on his comment, the Grammy nominated Sheeran explained:

“Beyoncé owns women around the world.”

“Beyoncé just has this thing, women want to be her. They want to think like her. They want to do the things that she does,” he added.

Referring to her high creative bar-impacting, stealth-dropped, self-titled album Beyoncé last December, Sheeran said:

“When that album dropped, you realized how many of your mates are Beyoncé fans.”

He added: “Because I had a house party the day that it dropped — and I didn’t know it was dropping, obviously all the women did — and all of the women locked themselves in a room with big speakers and listened to the album all the way through.”

Ed continued:

“There were about 16 of them. And the guys were just there drinking beer playing pool we just didn’t know what was going on so we went in and they were just there [singing] ‘Drunk in Love’!”

Proving that his Beyoncé love isn’t just lip-service, Sheeran subsequently covered that song when he dropped by Z100’s Morning Show with host Elvis Duran recently.

At the time, he told Duran:

“I did around 12 seconds of it and everyone online was like, ‘I wanna hear a full version!'”

Whether it’s because his new album X remains the biggest selling album in the UK for a third week in a row, but Ed also gave out generous praise to another artist last week.

In the same Atlanta interview, Sheeran said of the much-in-the-news Justin Bieber:

“I think the problem is people expect too much from him [Bieber], and people want too much and people are very grabby.”

“People follow him around and he doesn’t really have any privacy and never really has had any privacy.I feel like it’s not so much what he needs to do. It’s what we need to do.We need to stop taking such an interest in him and let him make his music because I genuinely like his music,” Sheeran declared.

Returning to Beyoncé — and specifically — her joint tour “On The Run” with hubby Jay Z, HBO has just released a new 25-second trailer for a special that airs this September.

The special will be filmed at the couple’s dates at Paris’ Stade de France on September 12 and 13.

“This is a major musical event that belongs on HBO,” declared Michael Lombardo, president of the network’s programming.

“It’s going to be a night to remember.”

Forbes – which recently declared Bey as the most successful celebrity in their Celebrity 100 -reports news of the “On The Run” special lands less than a month after the network’s reveal that it would be airing “Beyoncé: X10,” a video series featuring one-off performances from the “The Mrs. Carter Show” world tour every Sunday before the final season of True Blood.
