Watching other people’s wedding videos isn’t always a joyous experience, let’s be honest. Most wedding videos have plenty of meaning and emotion — for the people in them. For everyone else? Well, they’re maybe a step above vacation slides, but that’s it.

The story behind the video is this: it happened in Manila, in the Philippines, when a young couple fell in love. Rowden Go Pangcoga and Leizel May were to all appearances an ideal pairing. So it was no surprise when earlier this year, they made the decision to spend the rest of their lives together.

The date for the big day was set for July 8, 2014 — Rowden’s 30th birthday, which would be a memorable one for so many reasons.

But shortly after their engagement, in late May, fate dealt the blissful couple a cruel twist. Rowden learned that he was suffering from Stage IV liver cancer — an especially serious form of cancer.

Sadly, the survival rate for Stage IV liver cancer is not good, between just 2 and 7 percent. Liver cancer is also a very fast-moving disease. Sadly, it soon became clear that Rowden had very little time left.

As Rowden came to terms with his fate, he wanted only one thing — to marry the love of his life, who was also the mother of his two-year-old daughter.

Rowden was in poor shape. The couple’s family and friends had mere 12 hours to put a wedding together. But this time, on June 11, Rowden was no longer able to rise from his hospital bed. So the wedding came to him

After marrying Leizel, the woman he loved, Rowden felt able to pass on in peace. Just 10 hours later, he died.
