Amy Poehler & Tina Fey Are Back in New Film ‘The Nest’

The brilliant comedy duo of Amy Poehler and Tina fey are back again in their newest movie, The Nest. Due out December 2015, the film tells the story of two sisters who return to their hometown to clean out their childhood home before their parents sell it – but first, they throw one last raging party.

Also confirmed for the movie is SNL alum Maya Rudolph (who plays Amy and Tina’s childhood friend), along with The Mindy Project’s Ike Barinholtz, and John Leguizamo.

The first pictures of filming for The Nest hit the Internet today, showing Tina sticking out of a sunroof of a car, clearly gearing up for the “rager,” with Amy driving (perhaps telling her to come down?) Tina also looks to be dressed like someone half her age, which will probably equal embarrassing comedic moments on screen.

The Nest is filming in Rockland County, New York, which is about 30 miles outside of Manhattan. The riverfront community The Harbors plays home to Tina and Amy’s fictional childhood home. The film is also shooting in White Plains and other suburban locations outside NYC. Written by another SNL alum, Paula Pell, The Nest is the first co-starring film for Amy and Tina since 2008’s Baby Mama. Tina and Amy are also executive producers for The Nest.

In addition to their new film, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are both still active in their television careers. Tina is executive producing a new NBC show called Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, starring Ellie Kemper (The Office). Amy is producing a Comedy Central show called Broad City, which launched first as a web series before the network picked it up. She also has one more season left as Leslie Knope on NBC’s Parks and Recreation. (And you bet we’ll see these funny ladies hosting the Golden Globes again.)

Looks like these busy funny women (both also moms) have plenty to juggle, but we are more than excited to have a new film to gush about starring these two lovely ladies.
