Guillermo Ochoa: Mexico Goalkeeper Stops Brazil In Spectacular Display, World Cup 2014
It was an impressive display from Mexico goalkeeper, Guillermo Ochoa, to deny the host, Brazil, and draw 0-0 in Group A action at the 2014 World Cup. Stopping the multiple attempts from the Verde Amarela was a feast for the eyes.
28-year-old Ochoa was guarding the goal fiercely, even when superstar Neymar attempted to start something going for the Brazilians, who started off with an inspired rendition of the national anthem at the Castelao arena in Fortaleza. The lack luster performance disappointed the thousands of supporters who came out to cheer their team on.
Brazil won their opening match against Croatia in less than convincing style, even with two goals from Neymar. Croatia scored first and had millions with their heart in their throat, thinking that maybe their team would actually lose the World Cup opener at home.
On Tuesday, Mexico’s Ochoa not only denied the heavy favorite Brazilian team, he showed that he is ready for the international arena. Some of the stoppages were simply spectacular.
Here are some of the shots captured by photographers at the Brazil vs. Mexico match today. This is what a great goalkeeper looks like:

We told you the Mexican goalkeeper was impressive, and he proved it by putting on a clinic of the highest level against Brazil. Speaking to reporters in the post-match press conference, Brazilian coach Luiz Felipe Scolari explained to reporters:
“There was a chance here, a chance there, it was very tight. It wasn’t a question of us evolving or not (from the last game). We’ve been playing this way for 20 games, we are up against good teams, we need to understand that.
“It wasn’t a good result, a victory would have qualified us. We need to respect other teams.”
Mexico’s goalkeeper helps his national football team keep their chances of moving to the round of 16 alive, they now have four points — the same as Brazil — who was undefeated at home in their previous 38 matches. Many are calling Guillermo Ochoa the hero of the match, as he saved the frantic attempts by Brazil to score at least one goal in front of their fans.
