[Video] Travis Pastrana Hurt in “Nasty” X Games Fall

Motorsports star Travis Pastrana suffered a “nasty” fall at the X Games, breaking bones in his foot and ankle during a stunt jump.

Pastrana will require surgery for the injuries he sustained at the X Games, but he’s currently recuperating at his hotel and is already talking about returning to the sport:

“I am sorry this happened and will be back in action as soon as I can. I look forward to Pastranathon 2012 at X Games 18,” Pastrana said through [ESPN spokesman Danny] Chi.

According to Chi, Pastrana will require surgery after his spill during the Moto X best trick event. The motorcross competitor was due to make a NASCAR debut tomorrow in Claremont, Indiana.

In the past, Pastrana has achieved 16 gold medals at the X Games, an annual action sports competition. Pastrana has also ranked at a bevy of supercross, motocross and American rally championships. Earlier this month, he placed 22nd at a NASCAR event in New Hampshire. Watch Travis Pastrana’s 720 attempt and subsequent crash:
