Lil Wayne And Birdman’s Infamous Kiss Wasn’t Anything Out Of The Ordinary
Lil Wayne and Birdman caused quite a stir several years ago when someone snapped a pic of the guys exchanging a brief kiss. Although the incident took place back in 2006, apparently people are still discussing the encounter.
The image in question quickly made the rounds nearly eight years ago, leading some to believe that Lil Wayne was secretly involved in a homosexual relationship with the Cash Money Records CEO. Some people thought the photograph was fake, while others believed it confirmed their suspicions about Weezy’s sexuality.
XXL had a particularly amusing reaction to the kiss:
“The facial expressions alone are priceless. R&B singer TQ looks like he got next! If you ask me, this looks like a lovely Southern outdoor wedding. The ceremony colors were baby blue and cocaine white, champagne flutes were used in lieu of flower bouquets, and members of the bridal party donned blue sweatbands.”
Lil Wayne’s smooch may have taken place during a different decade, but apparently some people still want to set the record straight. According to MTV News, Turk believes the whole situation was completely blown out of proportion by fans and the media. Since many in the Cash Money family look up to Birdman, it’s not uncommon for some folks to show the guy a little fatherly affection.
Turk recently explained to Vlad TV:
“They caught them in a moment [and] the fans and the media made it into an issue that it wasn’t. They’re just like the mob, they kiss each other all the time. And I’m not with Baby and them to this day, but that was just something a n—a did in house.”
He continued:
“We all used to do that s**t, that was an in-house thing. It just was a homeboy thing, and when the media gets to it, they gon’ blow it out of proportion. [Now] I wouldn’t do that s**t, but back then we was young, it was all love. We had love for each other.”
In other words, Lil Wayne’s kiss is still pretty much a non-issue. If you really need some legitimate Lil Wayne news to get you through the rest of this month, then get excited about Weezy’s upcoming joint tour with Drake. The guys are preparing to embark on an epic 31-city jaunt, beginning to a show at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in New York on August 8.
