Louis CK Pleads With TMZ To Remove Traumatic Video On Behalf Of Ardie Fuqua’s Daughter
Comedian Louis CK is friends with Tracy Morgan and Ardie Fuqua, both critically injured in a horrific New Jersey Turnpike accident this weekend.
Following news of Tracy Morgan‘s injuries, entertainment gossip site TMZ posted leaked video of survivors being recovered from the wreckage of the collision. Aside from Morgan, Ardie Fuqua was also severely injured — and Louis CK has been advocating for the comic’s daughter on Twitter in hopes the site will heed their pleas.
First, he retweeted a tweet from a comedy news site:
Daughter of Ardie Fuqua, critically injured in Tracy Morgan crash, wants TMZ to remove gruesome video http://t.co/LKsRtnUIAg
— LaughSpin.com (@laughspincom) June 12, 2014
Louis tweeted it again, this time personally pleading with TMZ to take the content down:
Take it down TMZ. Now. Please. http://t.co/evEFvWniIJ
— Louis C.K. (@louisck) June 12, 2014
After more than 2700 retweets and 2300 favorites, CK’s tweet may have had the opposite effect, as he added:
Ur all crashing the Link to story. Tmz has a video of footage of my friends Tracy and Arte in a terrible crash. They are in ICU
— Louis C.K. (@louisck) June 12, 2014
Arte’s brave daughter asked them to take it down. They won’t.

The video involving Tracy Morgan and Ardie Fuqua remained on TMZ’s site, and Louis said:
Please don’t go to TMZ to watch the video. Please ask them to take it down. @TMZ
— Louis C.K. (@louisck) June 12, 2014
Finally, he personally addressed all of Twitter, commenting:
This is from Arte’s daughter. http://t.co/N6rmdUT5dg Please take it down @TMZ please don’t watch it @you
— Louis C.K. (@louisck) June 12, 2014
The comic linked to his friend’s daughter’s earlier plea on Instagram, which was annotated:
“I need help to get TMZ to remove the video of the accident that shows my dad being pulled from the truck and laid down to the side. This something no one should ever see, it’s hurtful and distasteful.”
In addition to the severe injuries sustained by Morgan, Fuqua, and other passengers, the accident caused one fatality — James (Jimmy Mack) McNair was killed in the wreck.
Despite Louis CK’s tweets and Fuqua’s daughter’s tearful begging, TMZ has not removed nor have they revised their post — which is titled “Tracy Morgan VIDEO Shot Just After Crash: Panic in the Streets.” Given the family’s objection to the graphic content, however, we will refrain from linking to the post in question. TMZ has not publicly addressed the request to remove it.
