Kim Kardashian And Kanye West: An Expensive Trip Down The Aisle?

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West pulled out all the stops for their wedding in Europe this weekend. E! Online reports the Kimye nuptials took place yesterday at the Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy. Speculation abounded for weeks about the affair, with tales of grandiose preparations.

Now People is tallying up the costs.

Guests began arriving at the European locales — first Paris, then Florence — for the Kim and Kanye spectacular on May 19. People reports they stayed at the Hôtel George V in Paris and either the St. Regis or Four Seasons in Florence. Rooms at the Hôtel George V start at $750 a night and the Florence hotels run for about $885. A quick-and-dirty calculation, and People estimates the approximately 200 guests possibly ran a total bill of a half a million dollars.

Of course, that’s just an estimate – E! Online reported today that the two wed surrounded by only 100 of their closest friends, not 200.

Rental of the Italian fortress, a 16th-century structure, reportedly cost the couple approximately $409,000. That was before potential technical upgrades to make the location suitable for West and Kardashian’s wedding ceremony.

Kim Kardashian’s wedding gown was custom Givenchy Haute Couture, designed by Riccardo Tisci at an estimated cost of $500,000.

In addition to Kim’s bridal shower, on which The Inquisitr reported earlier this month, Kardashian had a bachelorette dinner with close friends in Paris. People surmises this could have cost $4,100 – just for the food. The next day’s rehearsal dinner reportedly included a paid performance by Lana Del Rey, who sang Kim’s favorite song.

But all of that is just the beginning.

People reports Kimye chartered two private jets to transport guests from Paris to Florence, and hired private cars to get the guests to and from the Florence airport. They also offered hair and makeup treatment to guests, and of course served amazing food at the event.

And then there were the flowers.

Among the floral arrangements that People reports arrived at the ceremony were a selection of the rare flower tuberose. After consulting with a local Florence flower shop, People estimated that the total floral costs for Kim Kardashian to become Mrs. Kanye West could be $136,000.

Now that they have tied the knot, Kimye may finally be ready to move into their new home. E! Online estimates their dream home to have a value of $11 million. They purchased the property in January 2013 and have been renovating ever since.

But in the meantime, the parents of baby North West will be honeymooning. The Daily Mail reported that Kim and Kanye arrived in Ireland for a five day sojourn on a private estate.
