Singer Jewel Becomes Mom to Baby Boy

Popular 90s singer Jewel and husband of three years, rodeo announcer Ty Murray, became first time parents last night with the birth of their son, Kase Townes.

Jewel and her husband announced the baby boy’s arrival on her website, reporting to fans that their 7 pound, 6 ounce son was born at 7pm CST. The couple offered a brief statement on the site reacting to the new addition:

“Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy Kase Townes Murray into the world! We are over come [sic] with happiness – it really is as great as everyone told us it would be- better even!”

According to the (somewhat in need of editing) announcement, Jewel is currently appearing as “Host and Judge” on the Bravo show Platinum Hit. And the singer has another arrival in the works- a kid’s record featuring “original music” called The Merry Goes ‘Round, due out in August.
