Prince Harry Joins Twitter To Promote #InvictusGames
Prince Harry joined Twitter for the first time to promote a worthy cause, he was asking people to purchase tickets for the “Invictus Games,” which he sponsors.
The event took place at the BT Tower in London to promote the wounded veterans’ charity. Their Twitter page states:
“Using the power of sport to inspire recovery and support rehabilitation for our Wounded Warriors.”
Harry participated in a Q&A taking over the @InvictusLondon Twitter account:
Hope everyone will get behind #invictusgames. Great opportunity to support and thank the men and women who have given so much. Harry

As has become his custom, Harry looked like he was having a great time with this new social media experience on Twitter:

Prince Harry has become an active philanthropist, a trait that he inherited from his mother, the late Princess Diana and is often seen lending his time and name to worthy causes, such as a trek to the South Pole, also involving veterans.
Joining Twitter for the #InvictusGames is just the latest in a series of recent charitable events in which Harry has been an active participant and the organizers of the Q&A couldn’t have been more excited to welcome the royal.

During his speech for the #InvictusGames, Prince Harry said in part:
“For many of those who have suffered life changing injuries, sport plays a hugely important part in their recovery and life beyond as you have heard.”
“This is particularly true for those men and women injured in the service of their country.”
“By the nature of their profession these men and women are often very active and undoubtedly highly competitive.”
“The Invictus Games this September will give these inspirational people the opportunity to showcase their talent and in doing so, prove that anything is really possible.”
All in all Prince Harry seemed to enjoy joining Twitter — if only briefly — for the #InvictusGames, which open on September 10 and are also championed by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
