Chris Martin Romances Alexa Chung

Chris Martin is currently in a stable uncoupling union with his estranged wife Gwyneth Paltrow, and when he isn’t involved in that anti-relationship, he’s apparently romancing Alexa Chung.

The Coldplay frontman was spotted with the British television presenter having a romantic night out including drinks. According to E, the two were spotted out recently in New York City on a date.

A source from Heat magazine said of Chung and Martin’s outing, “When I arrived, about 9:15 p.m., they were tucked away in a dark corner of the back room of the bar.”

The witness added a bit more in regards to Chris and Alexa’s evening out on the town:

“Chris and Alexa seemed to know each other really well. They were both in a great mood, and even asked us to watch their bags when they went out for a cigarette. It definitely looked like a date to me.”

This isn’t the only rumblings we’ve heard of Chris Martin and Alexa Chung. According to a source, the two met while in Glastonbury last year. In addition, a gossip site called Celeb–chy reported that Alexa Chung might have been the reason behind Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow’s “uncoupling.”

Back in March it was reported that the Fashion Girl and pop culture Journalist was labeled as “the other woman.” Upon investigation, the site pointed to an additional gossip site LaineyGossip, that runs anonymous celebrity blind items and later on reveals the culprits behind trashy behavior and sometimes alleged affairs.

According to Lainey’s sources:

“Chris fell HARD for Alexa and that Gwyneth forced Chris to give up Alexa, and he did but he was still in love with her.”

In an addition to the report, the Daily Mail ran a similar news story about Martin and Chung’s history together:

” A number of U.S. websites have linked the couple together just days after the musician announced his split from wife Gwyneth Paltrow.”

Of their Glastonbury appearance together, a source told Daily Mail:

“They turned up together at around 3 or 4am and came over to where I was working at Shaken Udder and said to me and my friend ‘what do you recommend?’ They looked like they were just chilling and having a good time. I did find it a little odd that they were together – but we had a little chat and they wandered off after they asked us if we knew of any good places to go and have a few drinks.”

After the dust settled on Gwyneth Paltrow’s very public announcement that they were separating, Chris Martin, whose band Coldplay is releasing a new album, completely blamed himself for the split.

“If you can’t open yourself up, you can’t appreciate the wonder inside. So you can be with someone very wonderful, but because of your own issues you cannot let that be celebrated in the right way.”

Martin continued:

“About two years ago I was a mess, really, because I can’t enjoy the things that we are good at and I can’t enjoy the great things around me because I’m burdened by this. Up to a certain point in my life I wasn’t completely vulnerable and it caused some problems. If you don’t let love really in then you can’t really give it back.”

Despite his troubled times, Coldplay’s single “Magic” paints a very different picture. Since all of the songs come from Martin’s experiences, it’s no wonder that the track feels like someone falling in love again. Perhaps Martin wrote it for Alex Chung?
