A WWE Video That Leaves You In Tears? Sounds Impossible, But This One Will — Prepare To Cry

The WWE has become an institution in the pro wrestling world, but more for its ability to ignite people’s baser emotions, or at the least, their sense of irony. The WWE has never been known for telling deeply moving, human tales.

And then came this video, a heartfelt tribute to an eight-year-old boy from Hampton Township, Pennsylvania, who passed away on April 25 after bravely battling pediatric brain cancer for five years. Connor Michalek was the true definition of toughness — but his heroes were men who act tough for a living in the pro wrestling ring.

Connor was a devoted wrestling fan, and his father, Steve, is convinced that the time he was able to spend with his favorite wrestler, WWE Champion Daniel Bryan, and the other WWE superstars, kept the upbeat youngster alive longer than anyone expected.

Connor met Daniel Bryan at the WWE’s invitation in 2012, and then, last month, Connor — or as he called himself, “Connor The Crusher” — was invited to Wrestlemania XXX where he had a front row seat to see his hero win the WWE heavyweight belt.

“Daniel got out of the ring on our side and the very first person Daniel went up to was Connor,” recalls Steve Michalek, Connor’s father, in this touching video. “He leaned over and said ‘Connor you mean a lot to me. You give me a lot of strength. You helped me earn this. Please keep on fighting.'”

It was more than even Connor hoped for, even after he earlier knocked out WWE superstar Triple H with a single punch, another funny moment in the video.

“I truly believe the whole experience extended Connor’s time with me,” said Steve. “There’s no greater gift that I could get, and no way I could repay them for that.”

Take a few minutes to watch this memorable WWE video and prepare to cry more than you’ve ever cried at a wrestling match.
