Coverage of the welterweight title unification bout kicks off on Showtime pay-per-view at 9 pm on Saturday.
Mayweather comes into the fight not only battling Maidana, but also plenty of outside-the-ring distractions. He revealed in an interview this week that his former live-in fiance, Chantal Jackson, was pregnant with his twins three months ago but is no longer pregnant. The two have also broken up.
But Floyd Mayweather Jr. said he’s focused on only one thing — beating Marcos Maidana.
“My job is to go out there and do what I do best,” Mayweather said after weighing in at 146 pounds, one under the welterweight limit. “I perform better under pressure. I look forward to going out there and being Floyd Mayweather and taking my time, keeping my composure and doing what I do best.
“Pressure. I love it. I love it. The main thing is, as long as God loves me, I’m OK.”
