Lil Wayne: 'Tha Carter V' Artwork Hits Twitter Courtesy Of Kobe Bryant

Lil Wayne is preparing to unleash his next solo effort Tha Carter V on the world at some point this year. However, it's still unclear when that's going to happen.

Although the rapper is reportedly still putting a little spit and polish on the project, this didn't stop NBA star Kobe Bryant from leaking artwork for the next Lil Wayne effort on Twitter. If folks were hoping for something outlandish and over-the-top, then they should prepare themselves for an image that's a bit more restrained and reserved.

Check out the artwork below.

While all this talk about Lil Wayne and Tha Carter V is definitely getting some folks excited for the album, nobody seems to know when the new songs will drop. Although Drake previously hinted that the record would arrive in early May, Lil Wayne's manager recently stomped all over everyone's excitement.

"You know I push dates back and s***, so I'm not going to release that date until I really know when it really is," Cortez Bryant explained.

While the May 5 release date isn't happening, there's always a chance Lil Wayne could pull a Beyoncé and spring the record on the world without warning. Since this is quickly becoming a popular gimmick -- Kid Cudi recently released his latest musical endeavor in a similar fashion -- this scenario isn't too far-fetched.

Regardless of when Tha Carter V finally drops, Lil Wayne promises that it's going to completely knock you out of your overpriced sneakers. The rapper previously told the folks over at MTV News that the project was "coming together dope." In case you're wondering, that's definitely a good thing.

"I say it's different, because I'm older and wiser, and I know more things and I know more about myself now. I'm more careful about what I'm doing and trying to be more careful what I'm saying," Lil Wayne explained.

Weezy added, "I knew that I had people above me or around me that was gonna make sure whatever I said or shouldn't have said or whatever I did or shouldn't have did. Well now, I'm those people, and I'm telling me what I should do and what I shouldn't say."

There's also a strong possibility that Tha Carter V is the latest solo project from Lil Wayne. However, it's never a good thing to hold celebrities to their retirement plans until they've actually stopped working.

When do you think Lil Wayne will drop his next record on the masses?
