Epic celebrates 4th of July in Gears of War 2 with massive XP boost

In celebration of the 4th of July holidays over here in the U.S., Epic is throwing a bonus XP weekend up until July 5 for Gears of War 2. Rather than offering just 2 or even 4 times experience, you’ll be able to earn 21 times the normal experience rate throughout the duration.

In addition to the massive increase in XP, players who log in will find “Flaming Bloodmounts, Boomers, Tickers, 4 x Mortar Ammo, and 4 x Hammer Of Dawn Ammo.”

If you haven’t already done so, this would be a good time to pick up that Veteran Gear achievement that, according to Epic Games’ Rod Fergusson, unlocks something special in Gears of War 3.
