We’ve heard a little in the past about how Gears of War players will earn extra goodies in Gears of War 3 , and now we have details thanks to Epic Games’ Rod Fergusson.
In an interview with MTV Multiplayer, Fergusson stated that players who had the gold lancer and gold hammerburst in Gears of War 2 will have that skin as well. In addition to the gold skins, players will be able to unlock chrome skins through various achievements in past Gears titles.
“If you did something in ‘Gears’ PC you get a chrome skin, if you did something in ‘Gears 2’ you get a chrome skin. The chrome set is sort of our thank you to people who played our games in the past.”
Fergusson went on to hint that players who earned the Veteran Gear achievement (reach level 100 and win a match on all four Snowblind maps) will get a little something special as well, but he wouldn’t say just what it would be.
If you have any Gears of War and Gears of War 2 achievements left over, you better get crackin’. September will be here before you know it.
