Ariana Grande fans are battling rumors about the fate of the singer’s Nickelodeon show once again on Twitter.

Reports about the cancellation of Sam & Cat started to spread after racy photos of Jennette McCurdy started making the rounds online. Rumors about the show’s death grew to a fever pitch after McCurdy posted some cryptic remarks about Nickelodeon on Twitter. This also led some fans to believe Grande was making more money that her co-star.

Although Ariana shot down rumors that their respective salaries were playing a part in the show’s behind-the-scenes turmoil, this isn’t stopping folks from wondering if Sam & Cat will return for another round of episodes. Fueling the flames of speculation is #RIPCatValentine, a hashtag that suggests Grande’s hit show is officially over and out.

Naturally, some folks are genuinely upset that the series isn’t coming back for another season. Ariana Grande , who is in the midst of promoting her upcoming single “Problem,” has remained tight-lipped about the rumor as of this writing.

However, one fan claims to have received a direct message from the songstress on Twitter. While this is possibly the work of someone with rudimentary image editing skills, there’s no reason to believe she’s pulling everyone’s leg considering the relatively straightforward nature of the communication.

After Twitter user @grandeforeverx3 sent Ariana Grande a DM about the fate of Sam & Cat , the singer reportedly responded by saying that she would never address internet rumors with someone in such a fashion. As for the fate of the show, Ariana is apparently as clueless as the rest of the planet at the moment.

“I don’t know what’s happening with the show but I love you and thank you for always being here,” she wrote. Check out the alleged exchange between the singer and her fan below. Since it’s hard to tell who’s telling the truth on social media these days, approach this with a little skepticism.
