Mark Ruffalo ‘Avengers 2’ Tweets Make Marvel Angry

Mark Ruffalo’s Avengers 2 tweets have been making Marvel angry … and you wouldn’t like it when they’re angry. Okay, it wasn’t that bad, but they made him stop after posting pictures from the set.

The Incredible Hulk actor is apparently excited to work on the next major installment of Marvel’s biggest franchise, and he’s got the pictures to prove it. Marvel isn’t happy with the way he chose to show his excitement, though. The sequel to Joss Whedon’s ensemble hit The Avengers is under enough speculation, and too many leaked photos could make the press crazy over what we might see in them.

One picture shared on Twitter was Mark Ruffalo and Robert Downey Jr both posing with the thoughtful fist under their chins, and the Hulk and Iron Man actors were called “Bros.” Apparently the end credits scene from Iron Man 3 was an indication of how the two actors might actually get along. The Mark Ruffalo Avengers 2 tweet was also confirmation that Robert Downey Jr. will indeed be in the film. This was shared twice, once on an apparently shared Tumblr account, and again on Instagram.

The first tweet was of Scarlett Johansson, though all you can really see is her hair as she hid behind a boxer’s robe. The words “Black Widow” on the back of it are confirmation enough that it really is her in that outfit. This was also shared on the two social media sites.

It was after the second Mark Ruffalo Avengers 2 tweet that Marvel stepped in and tweeted at him to stop. The unflappable Hulk actor joked around, replying with a tweet telling them “I adore you.” Marvel replied, telling him that flattery would get him nowhere. It was enough to get him to stop, though.

This apparently all started when fans tweeted the actor, requesting that he post pictures. One of those tweets told him to “be a rebel for once,” and Ruffalo obliged. It seems the actor feels like the fans do about this movie, and he wants to share it with the world.

We all appreciate what you’re trying to do for us, Mark, but if it’s going to get you in trouble, we will be content to wait for the trailers and press releases, and see The Avengers: Age of Ultron to get the full story.

Do you think the Mark Ruffalo Avengers 2 tweets took the picture sharing too far, or is Marvel just being cautious?
