Avril Lavigne’s ‘Hello Kitty’ Music Video May Not Be The Hit She Hoped

Avril Lavigne has been busy riding the waves following the release of her self-titled album and after wrapping up her Asian tour. So what goodies did the pop star bring us from her adventures in Japan? Her “Hello Kitty” music video of course!

According to a previous report by The Inquisitr, Avril Lavigne is absolutely adored in Asia, which was confirmed by the overall success of all her shows. Her Asian tour took her all over, including Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, South Korea, China, Indonesia and Malaysia.

In her “Hello Kitty” music video, Avril Lavigne supports a very “smart” look through a good portion of the video with her black blazer and glasses, though she keeps it young and playful with her tutu-style skirt that is strung up with giant cupcakes. Then she keeps true to her punk rocker side as she loses the blazer and rocks out in a rather tight black leather top.

While the singer seems very excited about her new “Hello Kitty” music videos, there seems to be quite a mixed bag of reactions among Avril Lavigne fans. While comments on the singer’s Twitter announcement seem to be overall supporting of the music video, comments on other social media platforms, such as YouTube, aren’t so supportive.

One commenter posted on YouTube saying that “Avril is another person… I don’t really like her now, I’m sorry i love her but this song seems like not her… I prefer The rock Avril.” Other comments weren’t so nice though. With comments such as “This is beyond bad” and “What have you done Avril? Oh no..” it would seem like “Hello Kitty” may not be the smash hit the Canadian was hoping it would be. Of course, with every batch of negative comments come the loving comments from fans who absolutely adored Avril’s playful song:
