Amanda Bynes’ Mom Blames Marijuana For Daughter’s Behavior
Amanda Bynes’ mom is speaking out about her daughter’s supposed mental issues and blames her strange behavior of last year on marijuana.
Lynn Bynes clarified for E! News:
“Amanda has no mental illness whatsoever. She has never been diagnosed as schizophrenic or bipolar.”
Amanda’s mom squarely puts the blame of her odd past behavior — which included run-inns with the law and rude social media postings — on the use of the recreational drug.
Lynn adds that Amanda “is very sorry for all the hurtful tweets, statements, and actions that occurred while she was under the influence of marijuana.”

As The Inquisitr reported earlier on Thurdsay, Bynes’ lawyer also made statements that indicate Amanda does not suffer from schizophrenia as previously believed.
In an interview with People magazine, Tamar Arminak, said:
“There has been much speculation about Amanda’s medical condition, she asked me to dispel certain rumors. For the record, Amanda does not have schizophrenia, nor has she ever been diagnosed with it.”
“Amanda currently is on zero medication. She’s devoted to living her life as healthy as possible. She’s never had a history of abusing alcohol or hard drugs, and she’s proud to say she’s been marijuana-free for the past nine months.”
There seems to be a concerted effort on the part of Amanda’s family and legal team to dispel the belief that the former Nickelodeon star has mental problems.
However, TMZ reports that according to several of their sources, Amanda Bynes does suffer from both, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
According to the publications, the events that led to the hospitalization of Amanda last year, were all due to her mental issues and when she was placed on LPS hold in 2013, the judge heard evidence from the psychiatric ward she was being held at.
During her rehab stay at UCLA psych ward, Amanda reportedly had to be restrained on more than one occasion and became afraid of other patients.
TMZ’s sources also say that when she was at Ventura County psych hospital, she would tell doctors about “Bad Amanda” and would mimic exorcism and started biting herself.
Amanda’s mom believes that her daughter doesn’t need the medications for her mental problems and claims Bynes hasn’t suffered from any episodes in the last few months.

The family recently celebrated Amanda’s 28th birthday with a trip to Cabo San Lucas and Bynes shared a couple of snaps of her wearing a yellow bikini, looking very normal.
