Alexa Ray Joel Admits To Nose-Job: Denies Other ‘Work’ On Face Or Body

Alexa Ray Joel has matured; at least, this is her explanation for the astonishing transformation in her appearance.

The 28-year-old daughter of singer Billy Joel, 64, and former model Christie Brinkley, 60, revealed her new look this week while performing at the Cafe Argyle in New York.

As described by Us Magazine, Alexa was wearing a long printed skirt matched with a lace covered, cleavage-revealing corset.

They pointed out that Alexa’s “angular jawline, flawless skin, and sultry pout were a far cry from the beaming preteen many remember.”

However, a representative, speaking of behalf of Alexa told Us : “Alexa has never had any plastic surgery other than a rhinoplasty, which she has admitted to. She’s simply matured into a beautiful young woman.”

The rep added that this did not mean that Alexa had additional work done to look this glamorous — the musician’s new look is simply, well, maturity.

Alexa also addressed the controversy, writing on her Facebook page:

“The continuously-circulating rumors that I have had extensive ‘face-work’ and undergone breast-augmentation surgery is simply and entirely 100% false. The only thing I have ever had done is my nose, which I have always been completely candid, honest, and open about.”

Alexa Ray Joel has been performing since the age of 19, when she first put together a band, and played at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, New Jersey. She also did a Hard Rock Cafe tour in 2007, and a number of other gigs subsequently, including singing with her father at a fundraising event for the Barack Obama campaign in 2008.

Her performance in New York on April 1 was sold out.

Alexa continued to use social media platforms to express her feelings by writing on Instagram:

“It was a pristine honor to grace a stage that has seen such legendary-greats as Bobby Short, Woody Allen, and– my personal fave– Eartha Kitt. This 2-week long showcase (from April 1st-12th) is my very own handmade love-letter to New York, from start to finish; every minute-element of the performance, from my reinterpreted covers, to my original-material, to every note on the cello- was arranged wholly by me- And I can truly say that this is the first performance-run I’ve ever done where every beat of the show is coming entirely from the deepest dwellings of my heart and mind.”

It’s good to see that, finally, Alexa Ray Joel is enjoying this level of success after a life which has had many unhappy episodes, some drug related. It is also difficult to understand the obsession with what work she may, or may not have had done.

It’s show business, after all and ” nipping and tucking” go with the territory.
