‘American Horror Story’ Spoilers About ‘Freak Show Season’ Revealed

A ton has been speculated on the upcoming season of American Horror Story: Freak Show. Now via an E! spoilers report, we have another detail to add to the growing amount of information about American Horror Story’s fourth season.

According to E! as we all know Jessica Lange is returning for her last season. The report expands on her role even more. For Freak Show, Lange will play the manager of the last remaining freak show in Jupiter, Florida. Lange’s character has “rescued all these different individuals. It’s the end of that era, of the freak show, and we’ll do anything to keep our business going.”

A solid addition to last year’s cast was screen actress Angela Basset. Fortunately the actress will be returning, and even teased a bit when E! asked Basset what her role was in the upcoming Freak Show. Basset mainly played coy as she wouldn’t reveal too much, but did go on to say, “I don’t know if I’ll be a Siamese twin or a bearded lady!”

We previously reported that this will not be a present day setting. Instead the upcoming season of American Horror Story will take place in the 1950s and follow Lange as a German ex-pat.

While at Playfest co-creator Ryan Murphy opened up about the upcoming season of American Horror Story, and revealed that everyone on the panel would be returning to the show. At the time Murphy was referring to, Emma Roberts, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, Frances Conroy, Jamie Brewer, Denis O’Hare, and Evan Peters.

Of the upcoming Freak Show season Murphy said of the tone, “We’re going to freak you and scare you! Every person on this stage is coming back.”

Although none of the actors have been too forthcoming about what their roles will be, Evan Peters, who is engaged to real life fiancé Emma Roberts, opened up about how it was to work with Roberts during the American Horror Story: Coven season last year.

“It’s really amazing. You’re at set and you’re in a city that you don’t really know that well. It’s nice to have your best friend there to go to dinner with and check out the city. On set if you’re having a bad day or whatever, you can go to somebody and talk to her and she’s right there. You don’t have to wait until you’re done working, so it was nice.”

The upcoming season is set to air in October.
