Another shooting at Fort Hood in Texas has been reported today with an active shooter still at large on the military post.
According to initial reports, which are still vague, several people have been injured in the shooting, and at least one patient is currently being transported to hospital. Some reports have said that the victims of the Fort Hood shooting are in the Battle Simulation Center on 65th and Warehouse.
The whole of Fort Hood has been put on a complete lockdown as authorities search for the gunman who, at his time, is believed to be working alone. A source, who spoke to CNN anonymously, said the situation at Fort Hood is extremely serious and that sirens were going off.
A spokesman said an “incident” was under way but declined to provide additional information although Fort Hood’s official Twitter account has asked personnel on the base to take shelter.
Lt. Donnie Adams from the Bell County Sheriff’s office said: “They got some kind of shooting incident going on. They haven’t told us anything. It was on post and being handled by the military. Fort Hood has not asked for any assistance.”
Spokesman, Master Sgt. Jacob Caldwell, said he didn’t know whether there were one or more shooters involved or if anyone had been killed: “I haven’t been notified of that yet,” he said.
