‘Entourage’ Star Kevin Connolly Breaks Leg Catching Pass From Russell Wilson

Despite Kevin Connolly’s broken leg, shooting on the Entourage set is going forward this week without any delays.

“Break a leg” is a good-luck saying in show business, but it is generally not taken literally.

Connolly — who plays good-guy “E” a.k.a. Eric Murphy on the popular HBO series now being made into a movie — injured himself catching a pass from Russell Wilson during a football break (so to speak) in the shooting. TMZ also claims that “Turtle” (actor Jerry Ferrara) fell on Connolly’s leg in the mishap.

Wilson, the Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl-winning quarterback, has a cameo role in the movie.

Receiving a pass from Wilson, Connolly tripped over a water sprinkler on the Los Angeles set last Wednesday and broke his leg in two places.

Rob Gronkowski, Tom Brady, and other high-profile athletes reportedly also have small, walk-on roles in the upcoming movie.

According to Deadline Hollywood, “Money disputes couldn’t stop the Entourage movie from going forward and neither can Kevin Connolly breaking his leg… Connolly immediately iced his leg… and went back to work to do the next scene soon afterward. He showed up for work the next day, and production on the movie based on the long-running HBO Hollywood hustle series has not been interrupted at all.” Connolly is apparently hobbling around on crutches while wearing a leg cast while shooting his scenes.

The movie version of Entourage is scheduled for release on the big screen in June 2015. Entourage as a TV series ended in 2011. Filming started on the movie — which is being directed by series creator Doug Ellin — last month.
