‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Official Trailer Releases [VIDEO]

The new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles just went live on Youtube! It is also getting a lot of attention too.

According to Digital Spy, the latest incarnation of the heroes in a half-shell, who originated in a 1984 comic book by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, will star Megan Fox as April O’Neil and William Fichtner as the Shredder. As for the turtles themselves, they will be played by Alan Ritchson (Raphael), Noel Fisher (Michelangelo), Jeremy Howard (Donatello), and Pete Ploszek (Lenoardo). Danny Woodburn will star as Splinter. Also, the turtles and Splinter will be brought to life through motion-capture for the first time.

As a bit of a throwback to the original 80s and 90s animated series, Will Arnett will play as April’s cameraman, Vernon Fenwick. Whoopi Goldberg will play Bernadette Thompson, which may be an original character for the film

Originally, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were in another live-action trilogy. The actors would wear costumes with robotics in the face features to incorporate mouth movements for speech and eating. In the second film, original mutants, Tokka and Razaar, were introduced. In the third film, the turtles traveled back to Feudal Japan. All in all, the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trilogy was well-received.

Though the trailer is interesting, there is still a stigma surrounding this film that traditional fans are upset about. Though not directing, Michael Bay has hands on this film. Almost every traditionalist fan of Transformers hate how Bay butchered up their childhood dreams with Transformers.

Supposedly, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are getting a different origin story, from the original trilogy. April O’Neil’s father actually plays a major role in how the turtles came about. This is rubbing some fans the wrong way, and it doesn’t help that the role of Oroku Saki, who becomes the Shredder, is not played by a Japanese man. This is the same mistake M. Night Shyamalan did with The Last Airbender. This is also the same issue for Rooney Mara being cast as an Indian in the upcoming movie, Pan, as reported by The Inquisitr.

Nevertheless, what do you think about the trailer for the upcoming movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Love it? Hate it? Indifferent? Let us know in the comments below.
