Dwyane Wade Admits ‘Something Is Off’ During Recent Heat Skid; Face Rockets In Must Win

Dwyane Wade and Lebron James are not accustomed to hitting the skids. But following Lebron’s 61-point shooting spree over a week ago, the Miami Heat have since dropped five of six games, a losing streak that began against the team they face off against in today’s premiere NBA Matchup: The Houston Rockets.

According to Miami Heat beat reporter Jonathon Goodwin’s Twitter feed following the Heat’s stunning upset defeat to the Nuggets friday night, Wade admitted it may be time to press the panic button when he told reporters after the game:

Lebron James echoed Dwyane’s comments after the game as well. And while it may or may not be time to panic, his analysis after the loss definitely leans toward the former:

The comments made by James and Wade were a far cry from their feelings before the match-up against the Nuggets, when Dwyane Wade tweeted out a more defiant and motivated opinion on the Heat’s losing streak, using hashtags like #Neversettling and #SeeingResults as he prepared to play:

The loss to the Nuggets at home marks the first three game home losing streak for the Wade-led Heat since 2011 and has many in the Miami area concerned about the upcoming playoff run. According to an article on Bleacher Report it’s pretty apparent why Lebron and Dwyane might be pushing the panic button:

“It’s one thing for the Miami Heat to lose on the second night of a back-to-back in Houston, get blown out in San Antonio or surrender narrow decisions to familiar tormentors from Chicago and Brooklyn. But it’s another entirely to fall flat at home against a lottery-bound opponent.”

The article continued:

“This wasn’t the first questionable loss logged by Miami at American Airlines Arena this season. The Heat have also been beaten at home by the Boston Celtics and the Detroit Pistons, both of whom sport records far worse than Denver’s 29-36 mark. But those defeats came back in November and December, long before the pre-playoff focus of March was due to set in. Moreover, neither was part of any prolonged slump.”

Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat will attempt to put a halt to their skid when they take on the Houston Rockets today at 3:30 p.m. EST live on ABC.
