Rumors began circulating this week that Apple was planning the feature when it was discovered that both Edison and Lite-On had greatly increased their shipments of LED flashes to major phone manufacturers.
At this time all company’s involved have denied the rumors however various rumors have surfaced that Apple is making big changes to their camera’s flash and dual-LED capabilities would make sense especially as the company has scaled back orders from Philips, the company that currently provides their camera’s single flash layout.
With dual flashes common place at this time on many top Smartphones from HTC, Nokia and others the move would make sense, especially when considering the brighter images and reduction in red eye and shadows that occur when moving from one to two flashes.
Rumors of an 8 megapixel camera on the iPhone 5 have also been floating around which would put the company’s next Smartphone release in direct competition with top Android manufacturers.
