New ‘Angry Birds’ Game Epic Soft Launch

A new Angry Birds game may have already launched in Australia, Canada and New Zealand with the most epic soft launch ever according to developer Rovio.

With no fanfare, big social media push or in game ads as would befit a new Angry Birds game, a YouTube video has quietly appeared on the official RovioMobile channel featuring an epic suit of armor, thrilling musical score that builds anticipation to the iconic red bird named “Red” in a helmet jumping at the camera.

We have watched the trailer a few times to see if there are any details hidden in the sound effects or background or even in the suit of armor itself that can give us details on the new Angry Birds game but we couldn’t find any.

A new Angry Birds game is hardly a surprise as the game still commands a loyal following even though the game play has not evolved beyond pulling a flightless bird back on a sling shot to speed toward evil green pigs who have stolen the birds eggs. The series originally started on the iOS platform in 2009 and has dropped onto multiple platforms and 6 different variations to date including Angry Birds Space, Angry Birds Star Wars and a spin off entitled Bad Piggies.

Along with a new Angry Birds game to join its feathered friends, the series has expanded into the realms of cartoons and, as The Inquisitr reported on earlier, a movie which will release in theaters on July 1, 2016.
