Dragon Quest X May Come to Wii U

Dragon Quest X was already announced back in 2008 to be headed to the Nintendo Wii, but it looks like Square Enix is considering adding another platform. That other platform is, of course, Nintendo’s Wii U.

During an investor meeting yesterday, Square Enix boss Yoichi Wada was questioned on why Dragon Quest X would be coming to the Wii rather than Nintendo’s new console. In response, Wada admitted that Square Enix was considering making the game compatible with the Wii U.

The Wii U is backwards compatible with Wii games, so technically you could play Dragon Quest X on it already — but going by Wada’s statements, it looks like Square Enix is looking into the technology to determine whether or not they could add a little something new to the Wii U version.

It’s good that Square’s finally talking about Dragon Quest X, but it would be nice if we could actually see the game in action after nearly three years of waiting.

Thanks, Andriasang.
